Author Biography

Marta Carretero, Universidad Complutense de Madrid

Marta Carretero is Associate Professor at the University Complutense of Madrid, where she is currently Head of the Department of English Studies. She authors numerous articles and reviews in national and international journals, mainly in the areas of modality, evidentiality and evaluative language. She is co-editor of five books, and has regularly participated in research projects funded by Spanish ministries as a member and as a head researcher. She has lectured on many subjects at BA, MA and PhD level, mainly on semantics, pragmatics and functional linguistics.
