Abstract

Even though interest in Chinese has boomed in our country in the last few decades, the increase in the number of students has not been accompanied by a significant increase in research in general, and in corpus linguistics in particular, which would be transferred to society in the form of teaching innovation. Therefore, to fill this gap and in view of the needs and new challenges educators face in teaching Chinese as a foreign language, the aim of this study is to review the existing Chinese corpora and, at the same time, to provide some practical examples of how these types of resources can be applied to the teaching of Chinese as a foreign language to make the most out of them and to open up new perspectives for both research and teaching.
